The Brief

All good web sites need a brief, it's a great way to grasp what you want before you proceed, if written well it can also be a functional spec and provide guidelines for the web site as well. I require a brief before I begin a web site, it should include the following information. What you would like the web site to achieve, how many pages and what each page does, all the finalised text for each page and so on, please feel free to download our questionaire as it outlines this in more detail.
Text

I require all text to be supplied preferably in PDF format. The reason for this is so I can easily copy and paste the text directly on the required pages on your web site. I am not a copywriter so please spell check and make sure it's 100% correct before I publish your web site. Dont worry you will still be able to edit it whenever you want, but it saves time and energy to do it right the first time. For the record I am not fond of word documents as the formatting, because if i can even open it is usually incorect NOTE: Please avoid using returns when writing paragraphs they do not transcribe.
Images
I require images to be supplied in as best quality as possible in JPEG format. I do not require hi res images. It helps if all images are bundled together in a folder and then zipped. (see below) Images can be 72 dpi and less than 640X480 and a maximum size of 1600X1200. I can resize supplied images but remember if you supply it right its easier for us and cheaper for you. Please name all your images properly! naming images 0003673AC.JPG is a no no, name the image what it is like “sunflower.jpg” then its easier to know what the image is when searching for it.
Royalty free

Sometimes finding images for your web site can be tricky espically when dealing with © copyrighted material, why not do it properly through me and the variety of royalty free web sites i'm a member of, this gives you the assurance that the images you are using are free of all © copywrite and potential legal issues. I can include a certain amount of royalty free images in the design process and can negotiate if more are required.
Icons

Icons make a great addition to any web site whether it be for links or simply to give a visual description as the the information on a page, I have accounts with several royalty free icon sites that I utilize when designing your web site. This kind of facility ensures your getting a quality job and you are making sure that the designers creating these icons are also being looked after.
Movies
If you have promotional movies that you wish to publish on your site thats not a problem, Just supply us with the movie or movies in the following formats - 16:9 (960 x 640) or 4:3 (640 x 480) The films can be supplied in mov - mpeg - mp4 - fla - wmv and I can upload them.
YOUTUBE - The easiest and simplest way for us to embed videos into your web site is via youtube, just send us the links to your videos and I can embed them again saving you time and money.
Zipping

Zipping a folder with files is also known as compressing a file, this action bundles all the images in a compressed format which makes it easy to email and also keeps everything together as well. I request this because it also makes our job easier and as I am trying to offer affordable web sites it really helps if we work together to streamline our working relationship. Zipping images also helps us greatly with our filing to make sure I can always find your job. Domain

If you currently have a domain name we can use it for your new site! I have to do what is called “Re delegating the DNS servers” this simply means I or you have to log onto the registry's web site where you registered the name access the control panel and change the settings to your new ones. it normally takes about 24hrs to take effect world wide. If you don't have a domain name I can register one for you.
