WACOM
The pen is mightier than the mouse! Ive been using wacom tablets for 15 years, they are 3 times faster than a mouse and easily more accurate, to learn more about wacom tablets click on the pic and it will open a new window to their web site. Another good reason for using a pen and tabet is because of the angle, when you work on computer as long as i do, having a good arm position is very important.

Working drives
I like fast computers so I work from two dedicated 750GB Seagate FreeAgent Pro storage drives connected with eSATA. I do this so the main design computer is running at its best and not suffering from crowded hard drives, its just another system I have in place to ensure quality and speed while we are working.

Backup
I back up everything, twice! each day at 6 o'clock my back up system kicks in and copies everything done from that day onto two Lacie Stark 1TB hard drives. from experience we have always had the best results from Lacie drives and will continue to use them for backing up. Every 3 months we then all the data onto DVD's which are digitally archived and stored. It genrally takes us about 5 minutes to find a job I have worked on 5 or even 10 years ago.  

Portability
If you need your files, i transport everything on this little 1TB puppy from Lacie, its called a “Ruggered” and believe me it lives up to it's name. These small things to me mean care and looking after data as we know is very important so i will always do my best to ensure everything is safe.

Large file transfers - You send it
Sending large files can sometimes be tricky through email, so “You send it” software is a great way to send files up to 100mb to clients and production houses with out having to worry about the email bouncing back from a limited email account.

FTP - Transmit
Working with production houses and sending large jobs to print takes a different tack, using “Transmit“ saves lots of hassles as it give us the opportunity to be able to upload large files (1GB+) directly onto the production houses server so they can securely gain instant access to each and every file. I've been using this for many years and its an extremely valuable tool.

Skype
Being directly contactable is a great thing to be able to support clients, using skype im able to professionally chat, talk and screen share with you to make sure everything is they way you like it. this saves time and money when getting things done.
